In Adobe Photoshop, how do you create columns with the text?

In Adobe Photoshop, how do you create columns with the text?

I need it for my project desperately. Help would be great!

10 points! In Adobe Photoshop, how do you create columns with the text?
Click and hold on the Text Tool in the Tool Palette. Hiding underneath the regular Horizontal Type tool is the Vertical Type too.

If you just want to turn a regular text block on its side, select the text layer, and transform it (ctrl+T). Hold down the shift key, grab a corner handle and rotate it into position (or Edit pulldown menu --%26gt; Transform --%26gt; Rotate --%26gt; 90 degrees whichever way you want).

Oh, or are you just asking about making a tall skinny block of type where the text wraps?? You can create Paragraph text. Select the text layer (it's okay to have already typed it in). Go to Layer pulldown menu --%26gt; Type --%26gt; Convert to Paragraph Text. You will then see handles on your type (you'll need to double click the layer to see them) which you can move around and your text will flow inside it.

I sure hope one of those is what you were looking for!

What file do you save your pictures from photoshop when you're done?

I'm making a layout site but I don't know what file ';layout people'; save their pictures in to have a great picture without looking all worn out. HELP!What file do you save your pictures from photoshop when you're done?
If the layout people intend it for printed media, then you shold probably save in color-separated CMYK. You'll get four files, each representing the contribution of different inks to the printing process. Also, the bigger the better. I suggest you ask them what format they prefer.

If you intend this for the web, things get simpler. Usually saving to JPEG with a quality above 65-70% (you can tinker with the quality settings in PhotoShop in the save dialog somewhere) should produce a pretty decent picture with a small file footprint.

GIF and PNG work great, too, but with GIF your picture gets reduced to 256 colors or less, which affects the quality, and with PNG your quality is kept but the files can get kind of big. What file do you save your pictures from photoshop when you're done?
This depends on the content of the image. If it's something that you might want to alter again later, always save it as a native photoshop file. For web publishing, always use the ';Save as for Web'; functionality found in the Files menu. That will allow you to see the quality of the image you are saving, and give you lots of options for adjusting the quality, and allow you to see what the final file size will be for each type before actually saving. Generally a web file will be saved as JPG for photographs, and as a png or gif if it's more of an icon, button, or other created work.
I save my Photoshop images as .png. They are larger than something like .gif, but they seem clearer and cleaner to me.

You need to use an sRGB profile for your image - if necessary Image %26gt; Mode %26gt; Convert to profile and **Turn your printer colour management OFF!

Ideally you will be working on a calibrated and profiled monitor, and you know how to use profiles, which will enable you to work around this problem as the professionals do.

Ideally you need a monitor calibrator - these are not expensive and they come with software, such as the Monaco Optix or the Spyder... they are a lot cheaper than getting your prints and image preparation wrong, in which case, if you are using destructive editing techniques, you will be damaging your image quality as well as wasting time and effort.
