How do I make an image as the font color of a text in adobe photoshop?

how do I do this? I tried doing this by reading my bro's book about adobe photoshop but I cannot follow the directions as they contain unfamiliar terms. Can anyone help me do this using simpler english and sentences? Thank you!How do I make an image as the font color of a text in adobe photoshop?
You mean that you want your letters to show parts of a picture, instead of having one color? There are many ways of doing it. For example:

1) Have your text in one layer and the picture you want in another.

2) ctrl-click on the text layer in your layer list - you should now have a selection in the shape of your text

3) switch to the picture layer, copy and paste -

you should now have a new layer containing text colored just like picture you had in the other layer. Now you can turn off the original text and picture layers. How do I make an image as the font color of a text in adobe photoshop?
Not able to understand what you want to do?? Image as a font color?? Elaborate more.
You mean make an image the same color as a font?

  • Using Adobe Photoshop 7 to convert to vector graphics?

I just got a copy of AP7, and I was hoping I'd be able to use it to convert some of my crappy bmp's to smoother, vectorized graphics. Can anyone tell me roughly how to find a vectorizing tool?Using Adobe Photoshop 7 to convert to vector graphics?
Technically what you need for vectorizing is not Photoshop but rather Illustrator. Illustrator is a vector drawing program and there are various ways to convert those images into vectors. Photoshop is a raster/pixel based program, essentially that's what bmps are, just poorer quality. There is not going to be any direct way of just ';converting'; the bmps, because they are going to be very low resolution.

I am using Photoshop CS2 and CS3, so I don't know how capable the Pen Tool may be in Photoshop 7. But in CS2 and CS3 you can use the Pen tool, and the Shape tool to create vectors in Photoshop. However, if you are going to either print them OR post them on the web, they will have to be rasterized, because you will have to flatten layers and that process will automatically rasterized (convert to pixels) the entire image.

Using the Pen tool requires that you ';trace'; over your bmp image. So you would set that up on one layer, and then in a second layer do the tracing.

I know this explanation may not be terribly helpful, but you do need to understand that while you can do some vector work in Photoshop (at least the later versions) it is not really a vector program.Using Adobe Photoshop 7 to convert to vector graphics?
    i don't know

In Adobe Photoshop, how do you create columns with the text?

In Adobe Photoshop, how do you create columns with the text?

I need it for my project desperately. Help would be great!

10 points! In Adobe Photoshop, how do you create columns with the text?
Click and hold on the Text Tool in the Tool Palette. Hiding underneath the regular Horizontal Type tool is the Vertical Type too.

If you just want to turn a regular text block on its side, select the text layer, and transform it (ctrl+T). Hold down the shift key, grab a corner handle and rotate it into position (or Edit pulldown menu --%26gt; Transform --%26gt; Rotate --%26gt; 90 degrees whichever way you want).

Oh, or are you just asking about making a tall skinny block of type where the text wraps?? You can create Paragraph text. Select the text layer (it's okay to have already typed it in). Go to Layer pulldown menu --%26gt; Type --%26gt; Convert to Paragraph Text. You will then see handles on your type (you'll need to double click the layer to see them) which you can move around and your text will flow inside it.

I sure hope one of those is what you were looking for!

What file do you save your pictures from photoshop when you're done?

I'm making a layout site but I don't know what file ';layout people'; save their pictures in to have a great picture without looking all worn out. HELP!What file do you save your pictures from photoshop when you're done?
If the layout people intend it for printed media, then you shold probably save in color-separated CMYK. You'll get four files, each representing the contribution of different inks to the printing process. Also, the bigger the better. I suggest you ask them what format they prefer.

If you intend this for the web, things get simpler. Usually saving to JPEG with a quality above 65-70% (you can tinker with the quality settings in PhotoShop in the save dialog somewhere) should produce a pretty decent picture with a small file footprint.

GIF and PNG work great, too, but with GIF your picture gets reduced to 256 colors or less, which affects the quality, and with PNG your quality is kept but the files can get kind of big. What file do you save your pictures from photoshop when you're done?
This depends on the content of the image. If it's something that you might want to alter again later, always save it as a native photoshop file. For web publishing, always use the ';Save as for Web'; functionality found in the Files menu. That will allow you to see the quality of the image you are saving, and give you lots of options for adjusting the quality, and allow you to see what the final file size will be for each type before actually saving. Generally a web file will be saved as JPG for photographs, and as a png or gif if it's more of an icon, button, or other created work.
I save my Photoshop images as .png. They are larger than something like .gif, but they seem clearer and cleaner to me.

Uploading photoshop edited pictures to the internet?

I'v edited a picture on adobe photoshop elements 6 and it wont upload to the internet on websites like bebo and myspace . When i browse for it to upload it on bebo, it dosent show up where its saved or on myspace when i try to upload it , it shows up when i browse for it but it doesnt let me upload it . Any help ?Uploading photoshop edited pictures to the internet?
they got it right your likely saving as a psd.. you need to change the format to jpeg or png.. (pngs typically will look better)Uploading photoshop edited pictures to the internet?
try reszing the photo and use the save for web feature. Resize to 500 pixels on the longest side. Then use save for web. I suspect the photo is too large a file siaze.
Make sure when you save the picture it's not on a photoshop file it's on a jpg or jpeg.
Make sure you saved it as a picture format ( jpeg, bmp, png etc.) You probably only saved it as a project
Make sure that it's in the right format. jpeg is best

Does anyone know if I buy adobe photoshop elements can I download it on my home PC and my laptop?

or am I only able to download it once.Does anyone know if I buy adobe photoshop elements can I download it on my home PC and my laptop?
you would have to contact customer support. In the case of Windows, when you buy the program (liscense), you are allowed to install it on a desktop and a laptop. Should be the same with them, but if you paid to DL it you will probably have to call again to get it the other one.

You should also be able to, when you dl it, select to save the setup file, copy it to a disk, and transfer it to your other computer.Does anyone know if I buy adobe photoshop elements can I download it on my home PC and my laptop?
Most programs will only let you download to one machine. If they allow it they will say but you might check the Adobe website. Wouldn't that file be too big for a laptop? I know it would be for mine.

    Good luck.

    G.G.
When you purchase Adobe Photoshop Elements you are given a license key. Which is good for one installation on one machine.

To install it on multiple machines, you'd have to purchase seperate license keys.

However... you can install it on multiple machines unethically and just not register the other installations. Adobe will never know.

I'm really trying to figure out the gimp. If someone could tell me what each brush does or where i can find out what they do id greatly appreciate it. Another question i have is with gimp can you take something out of a picture and place it on another picture like you can with photoshop?I have a question about gimp and photoshop?
First of all, a brush is a brush in GIMP. Play around with each one to see what you can do. Play around with the pressure sensitivity, the fade out, etc. to see what effects you can create.

To answer your second question, yes you can remove portions of a picture. Different methods for different types of images, but the easiest answer I can give is to use the wand tool to copy the selected image and paste it in the new image.

    I hope this helps.

Before clicking it, select the layer to which you want to add the effects (it can be text or pics or anything) and then click the 'fx' it should bring a window with a LOT of options - you'll get it once you see it.

Is it advisable to layout a magazine in photoshop?

I have a rush project where I need to do layouts for a magazine that have alot of text and images. Is it advisable to use photoshop to do these and will there be any drawback when it comes out in print? If so, what can I expect?

I really a not very seasoned with using Indesign or other programs and because I am in such a rush, I don't have the time to learn them. That is why I am trying to do it in Photoshop.

Your input/help is very much appreciated. =)Is it advisable to layout a magazine in photoshop?
if for professional, would advise using other like indesign,

    http://www.adobe.com/products/indesign/

if you have access to illustrator may be better, as well page maker, even a combination of all tools, check with printers of products for what they can work with, and types of files needed,

    ..

if you have quark, or corel draw and others as well,

..Is it advisable to layout a magazine in photoshop?
I would create a Word document, or a PowerPoint presentation. You can also use Word or FrontPage to create HTML pages.

If you try with Photoshop, which I did, you will soon notice that whatever the definition, it will not be enough and if you use a normal font size (10 or 12) you'll never be able to read the text clearly.

Believe me, I edited my own poems with Photoshop backgrounds and the result is unpublishable.
It should work out fine. A magazine layout would be similar to many other layouts. Photoshop will be great for resizing and placing text and pictures. Just do each page on a new 8.5x11 page. When you print, hit print to fit page so your margins don't cut anything off. There are also a lot of fonts to use for your magazine. But if any problems occur, Indesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop all have similar qualities. If you know photoshop, you shouldn't have any problems with the others.
Although magazine print is of higher quality, but, there is no guarantee the text will not pixilate from Photoshop. If you keep everything at 300dpi you should be good shape and keep your anti-aliasing on sharp.

After building a couple magazines in the past I suggest you learn Quark, InDesign, and Illustrator, it will help you in the future.

Is it possible to draw beautiful images using photoshop and painter without a graphics tablet?

or should I own oneIs it possible to draw beautiful images using photoshop and painter without a graphics tablet?
Yes, working from a scan you can make line art with the pen tool or simply a lot of patience and trial and error with freehand tools to produce good artwork.

It is also possible entirely by mouse, although it takes a lot of patience. A common technique for mouse artists is to produce a very rough sketch from scratch in photoshop, and then work on another layer to produce more steady strokes, knowing what they're aiming for from the initial sketch. It is difficult and requires practise, but is certainly possible. (Pixel artists do this as well, though their colouring method is obviously different.)

If you are serious about digital painting and you do have some money to invest in a tablet, I would recommend getting one however. Whilst Wacom is an expensive brand, you can buy lower quality tablets from about $50 ($100 for a larger one) and they make digital artwork faster to produce. Whilst Photoshop is pretty usable with a mouse, you can't really get much out of the amazing tools Painter offers unless you have a pressure sensitive tablet.

At the moment, I'd suggest you try working with a mouse for awhile, in order to teach yourself how to use the programs and get some practise. If once you have an idea of what you are doing, you want to keep going and producing more digital artwork, you can look into whether it would be worth investing in getting a tablet- if you have the money to get one and you produce art frequently, it will probably be worthwhile. If you like digital art, they're a pleasure to use once you adjust to them.Is it possible to draw beautiful images using photoshop and painter without a graphics tablet?
    yes, it's possible.

Try scanning in drawings and working from there.

    Always gives the best results.

set up a new file with dimensions of the finished page if you're okay with a border (for full bleed to all edges you need to do a page larger than the finished product and trim it down). depending on the hoped for quality and what the original photos you're using are sized to, you may want to try different dpi (dots per inch, the higher the dpi, the higher the quality).

use the various elements tools such as text, color fill (paint bucket), layering. to copy in other photos - open the digital photo, select all, copy, and then paste in the new file.

a file with multiple layers and such will probably be saved as a photoshop document (.psd) which you can still go back in and edit easily. to take to costco you need to save as a jpeg (.jpg).

Is using Photoshop on digital pictures acceptable?

Is photoshopping for image enhancement ( levels, saturation, etc.) a normal or acceptable practice for today's photographers?

I'm quite new to digital photography, and I wonder if photographers ( amateur or pro ) normally use Photoshop or other photo enhancing software to create those stunning photos.

    Do you enhance your photos?

Thanks! Is using Photoshop on digital pictures acceptable?
Generally, yes. It is perfectly acceptable. However, if you are entering competitions for photographers, make sure to read all the rules carefully, because some of them are very picky about digital manipulation.

Good use of Photoshop (and note Photoshop is a trademarked product from Adobe, so technically you don't want to say ';photoshopping'; but rather ';image editing'; or ';image manipulation';) is similar to what used to be done in the darkroom. In fact, some of the terminology and tools in Photoshop and other such programs comes directly out of the terminology and tools of the darkroom.

There is a rule, however, that pro photographers will tell you. It's ';get it right in the camera.'; The idea is to always place emphasis on taking good photos to begin with. Get the image in the camera. Learn your equipment, understand the settings and how your camera functions, when to do what for the particular type of photo, lighting conditions and so on. Take lots of pictures. Remember that with digital cameras, you aren't worried about wasting film (which was expensive). Bits are cheap! If you take a lousy shot, delete it and retake! And don't make the mistake of worrying about ';how many shots can I get on my memory card?'; Whatever camera you are using, always use the best quality and largest file settings possible. You can always delete info from an image, you can't add it. Consider shooting in RAW if your camera lets you do so (RAW is the completely uncompressed image information, all the data the camera sensor can record for an image).

The best idea for using photo editors is to start out with as good an image as possible. Do minimal editing: don't take the attitude of taking any old shot and assuming that you can ';fix it'; in your image editor.

Hope that helps! Is using Photoshop on digital pictures acceptable?
Yes, it's industry standard and completely normal for art designers to adjust a photo (as you say, levels and contrast etc) to ensure that when published it achieves its full potential. They're also crop it if necessary (as long as it doesn't change the narrative/story of the content).

Anything more than that and it's dangerous territory. If it's a fashion/lifestyle magazine then it's probably par for the course to touch-up a model (I should be so lucky), but in my experience, adjusting a photographer's image to a large degree usually meant a lengthy discussion over editorial credibility and us having to request permission from the photographer.

Personally, I always adjust my photos to account for poor light or perhaps if a camera produces images that are somewhat inaccurate (I had a Nikon Coolpix once thats photos were very red-heavy, for example). After that, guiltily, I crop and touch up and swap ugly friends for celebrities, and always, always airbrush out my third chin and beer belly.
I do my absolute best to get the photo right at the time that I take it. Yet, often I will put them into Photoshop and touch them up where needed. I believe that it is not only acceptable, but often necessary.

Quality is important in your results.

Playing wih Photoshop for your own intertainment is a lot of fun too! The only objections are when an altered image is presented as the truth when it's not.

it's pretty much accepted as the norm - most people would find it pretty strange if someone didn't use it

The problem is that after I've colored one thing, I'll add a new layer to color something else, but when I choose a different color, it also changes the color of what I already painted, even though I'm on a different layer.

Can someone please help! Thanks!Painting over a black and white image in Photoshop Elements 8?
Usually those kinds of changes occur when you haven't ';committed'; the last thing you've done. Is there a checkmark with a slashed circle next to it somewhat in the workspace? If so, click on the checkmark. Also, if you've selected what you're coloring, be sure to deselect before you pick the next color. Try clicking on the new layer to highlight it after you create it and before you select the next color. The order you do things in is called ';workflow'; and it can be important.

Your scanner has to be able to scan negatives. These types of scanners usually have a special slot in the cover of the scanner to place the negatives. This is because the light has to come from behind the negatives in order for the scan to work.

If your scanner supports negatives, and you have the scanner software installed, then you should be able to use the Photoshop File/Acquire and select your scanner. Then choose the settings indicated in your scanner manual for negatives. How do I scan Negative film in Adobe Photoshop?
It can't tell what the hell you're scanning. You need to either manually define the scan range or do something with your particular scanner software.

Using Adobe photoshop 6.0 I added a frame how can I get the white backdrop to disappear and only show frame?

You will need to make an alpha channel. An alpha channel will make an area appear transparent in your image when it is placed into the webpage. So in your case you will need to select the white area and make it an alpha channel. In photoshop you will have a channels tab containing RGB, Red, Green and Blue. When you have the white area selected click on the ';Save selection as channel'; option and it should turn red. After this re-save your image as a .pict file with the the option of ';alpha channels'; selected. If you are having trouble the HELP menu can also come in handy. Hope this helps.

How do i change the ';file size'; on photoshop?

I'm trying to make a Bebo skin and everythings uploaded right except the main one, i've done the right dimensions but it says

    ';main_bg file size is too large. Actual is 54865, maximum allowed is 40000, please rectify and upload again';

i've tried heaps of times !!

10 points first helping answer =)How do i change the ';file size'; on photoshop?
you can't make the file size smaller unless if you take out some stuff from your constructed bebo skinHow do i change the ';file size'; on photoshop?
if you are saving as a jpeg then you have two options to decrease the file size.

First is to go, Image, Image Size - and change the size by scale or pixels Keeping the proportions the same.

Or when you save a jpeg you have a dialog box that asks the quality on saving 12 being high 1 being low so this scale can be changed to say 8 and then the file size will decrease with the quality.
in photoshop menubar go to Image %26gt; Image size

    Then resize your image.

and when you save your file go to file %26gt; save for web and devices

from that you can get a small file sized image.

Why do the colors on my screen apear different than the ones in photoshop?

When I'm working on something in Photoshop, the colors look great. But when I save the picture and view it outside of photoshop or when I print the picture, the colors change. I've looked around for answers and I haven't found any.

can someone help me figure out whats wrong??

    thanks

--kendallWhy do the colors on my screen apear different than the ones in photoshop?
Sounds like you need to calibrate your screen. Many monitors allow you to change the amount of Red, Green %26amp; Blue as well as changing brightness %26amp; contrast.

Photoshop has ';Adobe Gamma';, a monitor callibration tool. Lookup ';Adobe Gamma'; in Photoshop help, and you should find it.

It will ensure that what you see on your screen matches what you see when you print or what someone else should see when they view it.Why do the colors on my screen apear different than the ones in photoshop?
If you save it as a PDF, the colors will almost always change a little. Try saving as a jpg instead.

But either way, you need to calibrate your monitor to your printer. It takes expensive gear to do this - a great monitor, accurate printer, color profiles, etc.

If you don't have the time, money or knowledge to calibrate everything, you'll simply have to go by trial and error. For example, know that people will have to look a little redder in Photoshop to print out looking a normal skin color, or that your blues have to look greener in Photoshop in order to print out a true blue.

How do I download brushes for photoshop?

Well, I guess the question isn't how to download them, it's how do I get them onto photoshop so I can use them since I suck at photoshop knowledge. I got them from brusheezy.com and the file is located in downloads%26gt;painted-brushes.abr.zip. I have windows vista. That's all the information I can think of to give. How do I download brushes for photoshop?
Well i only install them when photoshop is open so i'll teach you that method.

You unzip the files you downloaded by right clicking and selecting ';Extract All';.

Now go to Photoshop and select the Brushes tool. Go to the top and click the preview of the icon next to ';Brush'; On the drop down box, click the arrow on the top right and from the list click Load Brushes. Locate the place where you saved the Brushes and open it. (:How do I download brushes for photoshop?
Okay, first of all you have to unzip the package (I've gotten brushes off Brusheezy, they are very cool. Lots of good brushes there.) Now I am on a Mac, so I can't really tell you how to unzip on the PC, but check to see if you have Winzip. Also do a Google Search if you don't, there are free programs for unzipping (that's actually decompressing or uncompressing) the files. Once you do that, you should have a folder named painted-brushes, or you will have a file named that with .abr at the end. You will then have to find the Photoshop application (program) folder. Inside that folder will be another folder named Presets. Inside the Presets folder is the Brushes folder. Once you have found that folder, just drag the .abr file (.abr is the standard file extension for Photoshop brushes). They will now be available, but you will have to load them into your current brush library of whatever image you are working on to use them.
Go to http://www.brusheezy.com/ and download one you like.

Unzip the .abr file into your photoshop dir (you can also just unzip it on your desktop, it doesn't matter)

Then go to photoshop, click on brush. And then RIGHT click in your document, then click the small button in the upper right corner. Then choose ';Load Brushed';. Search your .abr file and your done :D
Unzip. extract anywhere. Go to brushes in Photoshop F5 I think. Load brushes. Look for the brushes you downloaded and load. And Done

What is the best way to design a flyer for my business in photoshop...?

what is the procedure for designing for print? what size, format etc should i ideally use? i will be giving the flyer to professional printers once it is done....anything i should keep in mind like use cmyk or dpi or any such thing? please help...thanksWhat is the best way to design a flyer for my business in photoshop...?
Hmmm, you might be better off with Illustrator (download trial from adobe.com) - then you don't have to worry about dpi and such like (and yes, keep it CMYK).

Just start with a suitable page size when you create a new doc, maybe A5 or DL, and make sure you use as high res photos as possible. Have a look at some existing flyers (try google images) and see about layouts, fonts, headings etc.

And always ';print to PDF'; (high res) when supplying a printer or they get pissy if you send them anything else. What is the best way to design a flyer for my business in photoshop...?
You might want to go to the source - your professional printer, and ask him what he needs in the way of sizing, formats, etc. Photoshop may not be the best program to use for print - whereas Publisher might be.

Im sick of wasting hours trying to learn photoshop elements 7?

Im not really interested in the quick photo fixes but more so painting and drawing. Turning photos into Charcoal drawings, oils etc.

Anyhow ive spend hours and hours and I still can't grasp it and all of the tutorials online are for CS4 which is just too expensive.

Please does anyone know where there are beginner painting/drawing tutorials for photoshop ELEMENT 7 im about to give up!Im sick of wasting hours trying to learn photoshop elements 7?
Almost anything you can do in Photoshop CS3 you can also do in Photoshop Elements 7 (seriously there are very few exceptions and they share the same exact technology). Just sometimes things are in a different place (for example shadows/Highlights in Photoshop Cs3 are under Image and in Photoshop Elements are under Enhance %26gt; Adjust Lighting). So you can still benefit from all the tutorials out there on how to do something in Photoshop CS3 (or even CS4).

If you want to convert your pictures into drawings you'll want to start playing with the filters (in the Editor, click on 'Filters'), start with the ones under 'Artistic', 'Brush Stroke' and 'Sketch'. This can get you a good feel for what you can do ';instantly';, and don't be shy, try changing the settings on every filter adding one filter on top of another, etc.

You will also need a good grasp in the concept of layers and blending modes to take it to the next level.

You can learn about Photoshop Elements Layers with this Slideshow:

http://experts.na3.acrobat.com/pse7_laye鈥?/a> (just be sure to click on the Notes Tab to read some special info on some of the slides)

    or in the help files:

    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/PhotoshopEle鈥?/a>

You can learn more about blending mode here:

    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/PhotoshopEle鈥?/a>

And the Photoshop CS4 help files has a graphical example (it is exactly the same stuff in Photoshop Elements 7):

The very impressive images you see out there that were created from a real photo and converted to look like a painting actually can take hours to do, so they are mostly not a one click deal as most people believe.

There are some good plug-ins out there, that will do all the work for you, but almost all of them cost money (and most work fine with Photoshop Elements).

Using Photoshop how can I make my photo black and white and color in the same image?

I want to create an image where the background is black %26amp; white and the main subject is in color. How can I do this?Using Photoshop how can I make my photo black and white and color in the same image?
simplest method is to duplicate the entire layer in the layer menu. Then working on the top layer desaturate it under image / adjustments

The whole image will be b%26amp;w but underneath is the full color layer. You can then take your eraser tool set to an appropriate size and go to town turning pieces into color again. If you have to zoom in...then zoom in. If you take it in tight enough you'll get better results.

It's easy to keep track of your layers if you check off the layer window. It'll pop up a little box with all the different layers you're working on.

The eraser method is kinda cheesy but depending on the image you're working with you can get some really decent results quickly.

If you want to explore some other methods you can try this site out:

2 layers, one with the image removed and then select B%26amp;W (probably greytone is what you really want) then another layer with the backround removed and the image left in color.
    here are solid directions.

load up a pic then duplicate it. then go to image then to adjustments then to hue / something settings then when that pops up the middle bar slide it all the way to the left then press ok or what ever. then the top brush right click click on the very last option there. then the color dropper thing then click on the color on the other pic u would like to use . the go to the black and white pic and color away with the color u just picked.

How do you make a picture on Photoshop black and white, but keep your eye color???

I just got Photoshop and I cannot figure anything out. I've seen pictures where the majority of the picture is in gray scale but a small chosen part is in color. How do I do this? How do you make a picture on Photoshop black and white, but keep your eye color???
    Use 'quick mask'.

    -- press 'Q'.

-- paint eyes with brush tool.

    -- press 'Q' again.

-- inverse selection if needed with shift+ctrl+I

    -- ctrl+shift+ U

http://www.euphoria-imaging.com/How do you make a picture on Photoshop black and white, but keep your eye color???
select the eyes using whatever method - then invert the selection to select the rest of the image then image %26gt; adjust %26gt; hue %26amp; saturation and bring the saturation down to the level you want
You have to isolate the eye using the selection wand ... use the auto conture feature with it ... makes it easier. Then use the quick mask feature .... make the picture grey scale and the selected area remains unchanged. This is probably confusing ... look online ... there are some great tutorials out there.
umm, I'd just use Paint, first make the pic greyscale then carefully take your eyes and put them on the greyscale
using the magnetic lasso tool, select the area around the eyes. Then, invert the selection and apply grey scale ^^
Select the eyes and then go inverse and choose adjustment mode greyscale

In Photoshop CS2, How do I make only parts of image have color?

You use quick mask mode to paint what you want to color then click back to standard mode then select tab- inverse selection then image tab- adjustments-hue/saturation-check colorize box and slide sliders.

If you don't want to see the dotted line go to view tab and uncheck extras. In Photoshop CS2, How do I make only parts of image have color?
    Photoshop:

1.With your color image out in your workspace, go to Image heading at the top, and click on it. Just barely scroll down, in the drop down menu, and you'll see Mode, click on it. Now scroll down in the 'fly-out' menu, and click on Grayscale. Yes, you want to delete the color. Go up to File, scroll down to Save As, click on it. In the window that appears, give this new grayscale image a name, then click the red x, and close it. Now you have the original with color, and the grayscale,(it's sort of like black %26amp; white photo). Go back in Adobe Browser, and take out the color version. Go up to your Tool Menu on the left, and click on the Magnetic Lasso Tool,(it may say Lasso Tool when you hover your mouse cursor over it, just right-click on it, then left click on Mag. Lasso Tool, in the 'fly-out' menu.) Now with the Magnetic Lasso Tool you will touch the point of the tool, to the outside edge of the color part, you wish to put in the grayscale image, for example, mouth, eye's, etc. Left-click on this edge then slowly,(not to slow, not to fast, experiment!), move the Mag Tool around the outside edge. You'll see magnetic Anchor Points every so often 'pop-up' as you go along. If the tool deviates from the edge you wish, just move the tool back towards the last anchor point you want, and press either the Backspace key, or the Delete key to undo it. You will now start again from this anchor point. It get's easier as you use the tool. When you have gone all the way around the color part of the image you want, you'll see a small empty circle appear. Look close. Click at this time, and the 'Marching Ants' will form around your color part,(you'll see what I mean!) If you have difficulty seeing the empty circle, or just can't quite get it, and you're close to the first anchor point,(real close!), just press the Enter key. Go up to Edit, click on it, and then scroll down to Copy, and click on it. Now pull the grayscale image out into your workspace, so that you have both image's out. Go up to Edit again, this time scroll down, and click on Paste. Use the Move Tool in the Tool Menu, to move the color part you copied, around to where you want it in the grayscale image. Then up to Layers, down to Flatten Image, and click on it. Go to the color image,(use your mouse cursor, click and drag the grayscale image out of your way a little, so that you can click on it's frame to activate it, or go to the Layers Palette at the right, and click on the color image, to activate it.[if you don't see the Layers palette, go up to the Window heading, click on it, then down to Layers, click.],and activate it. Go up to Edit, down to Step Backward, and click on it. This get's rid of the 'Marching Ants' so you can use the Magnetic Lasso Tool on a different color part you want to copy. This is the basic procedure. Just go thru it for each color part you want to put on your grayscale image. I use the Magnetic Lasso Tool, because I can get real close to the outside edge, and copy it.

What is the different between lightroom and photoshop?

i;m looking for a new editing program and i was wondering what the difference was and which one is betterWhat is the different between lightroom and photoshop?
Imagine Lightroom being a extension of your - exposure - AFTER the frame has been shot, especially if shot in RAW.. You have powerful controls in the exposure, color, tint, shadows and other adjustments if needed, and in very narrow bands too.

Photo Shop is also good for some post exposure adjustments, no where as good as Lightroom tho, but Photo Shop also lets you move things around, take things out of a pic, put things back in a pic. Adjust for red eye. Dust. Wrinkles. Make a pic BW with 1 part a color. And on and on. Even add text and shaps like a Desk Top Publishing prg if needed.

Both are a good compliment to each other and hard to imagine working with images now with out having both. However, I use Paint Shop Pro X2 for the image editing part and Lightroom for my final color editing.

Lightroom also lets you convert RAW files to other types of image files as well and this is a plus for me because I shoot with Fuji D-SLR's and Fuji RAW is in a league of it's own and Lightroom allows me the ability to change it to a un-compressed TIFF for further manipulation with-in PSPX2..

A tad expensive, but worth it..

Bob - TucsonWhat is the different between lightroom and photoshop?
Although Lightroom is considered to be a RAW converter, it's actually intended to manage thousands of digital images and doing post production work.

Most of the RAW processing (developing module) function is duplicated in Adobe Capture RAW, included in Photoshop, but the interface is considered to be a bit better.

The management features allow you to do things like create stacks of similar, related images, to make finding different versions easier. So you can have a B%26amp;W or a colorized version of a photo virtually at your finger tips when you look at the original.

Anticipating your next question, RAW files are the files that many higher end cameras can take. They get their name from being the RAW sensor data, unmanipulated by the microprocessor and firmware in your camera. Instead of using the camera's microprocessor and firmware, you use your computer's microprocessor and software (such as Lightroom or Adobe Camera RAW) to generate the JPG or print you'll view.

Is it possible to shrink images, within images, in Photoshop?

I have two pictures that I want to blend into each other. They are both separate layers, but one of my images is too big, in comparison to the other. Is there an easy way to change the size of my image in the layer, without having to do it outside the whole 'canvas'?

I know it's a confusing question, but I wasn't really sure how I should word it : /Is it possible to shrink images, within images, in Photoshop?
Yes. Just select the layer that is too big. Hit Ctrl+T on the keyboard. Hold down the shift key and move one of the handles in until you get the size you want, then hit enter.

That is transforming while constraining the aspect ratio. Transform is also under the Edit pulldown menu --%26gt; Transform --%26gt; ScaleIs it possible to shrink images, within images, in Photoshop?
If you still have the individual layers, select the layer with the image to be edited. You should then be able to resize the image itself. The easiest way would be to do the same as to selecting the layer, copy the image, do a Ctrl + N for new image, click ok and then paste image into canvas. Then use the image resize tool and reverse the copy/paste back to original layer.

    Ron
No i think the only way is to copy the layer thats too big into its own canvas, change the size and then copy back and delete the other image on the layer thats too big, should only take a minute to do

  • What size should the picture-background be in a web page because I'm making it in photoshop?

I'm making an image in photoshop that will be the background of a website. What should be the size of that image that will fit in the site perfectly? What size should the picture-background be in a web page because I'm making it in photoshop?
There will be no perfect size because everyone's screen size %26amp; resolution will be different. The best thing to do is design your website to a fixed ';width'; of your choice that fits the most common ranges... like 600 - 900 pixels wide lets say.

Whatever size you choose to make your ';website width'; - make your image the same width. What size should the picture-background be in a web page because I'm making it in photoshop?
You can't really- like the other posters said, every screen is different.

Your best best is to make something that tiles. It can tile in every direction, or be a wide one pixel strip that tiles downward (or a tall one that tiles horizontally). Or you can make one that is fairly large and use a background color on your page that matches the edges or a large portion of your background image, to blend them together. (Eg. if you have an image and gradually fade it out on the top and bottom.)

I'd suggest doing a complete tiling of a square, or the strips, since the file size is smaller. You'll need to be careful not to make a background that is too overwhelming - typical mistake people make.

    good luck.
It really depends on whether you want a repeat-tiles or just one big picture.

I think that you want the second, and there are several approaches to it:

    1) Lowest common denominator. Make your picture, say, 800 pixels wide, and make sure your page is vertically centered. This will look good on almost all monitors, but leave blank space on the edges.

    2) Let it go wide. Make your picture 1280-1600 pixels wide. The picture will be cropped on small monitors, but it's the best choice if cropping is not an issue.

    3) Build it with intelligence. Provide several versions of background (like 800, 1280, 1600 pixels) and load the proper one dynamically based on client's properties. Not good because it depends on browser scripting and obviously more work.

Remember, you have to choose one - one-big-picture or the tiles. If big background picture is getting repeated on big screens, and it's noticeable - this is a clear sign of poor web design.

    Good luck!
This is an impossible-to-answer question, as the size will vary depending on screen resolution, the size of the window at the time, and the content on the page.

Is there any photoshop filter that can turn a normal photo into a 3D photo?

Yes :D Go to Filters---%26gt;Stylize----%26gt;Emboss adjust the angle u want the image but the colours get messed. So U can adjust the colour if u can by going to Image---%26gt;Adjustments---%26gt; and then check which one u can play around with.

A dedicated ADOBE Photoshop question and answer forum?

So often in the Yahoo Answers, the same lame question is asked over and over again (Bit in colour rest in black and white is one).

Is there a forum where advanced users of Phtoshop can gain (and share) their knowledge of this incredible software.

In Yahoo Answers I have often gone to a lot of trouble to answer a query on Photoshop only to realise (too late) that the asker did not have Adobe software but was just using a free imitation program from the internet.A dedicated ADOBE Photoshop question and answer forum?
Search Yahoo Groups. There are several, some devoted to the full Photoshop and others Photoshop Elements. Warning, I have heard that some of the sites for the full Photoshop are not very friendly to what appears to them to be simple questions. Sometimes it is the simple question with a simple solution that is preventing someone from getting the results they want.A dedicated ADOBE Photoshop question and answer forum?
There are lots of forums for Photoshop users. You might check out one of the Yahoo Groups called Photoshop Haven, which I belong to. The members are at all different levels of knowledge, but lots of good information is freely shared. In general, just check out Yahoo Groups, do a search for Photoshop and you may find something that will suit you.

    Good luck.
In addition to your observation, I find most are kids that ask about installing or where can I get older versions of PS6-7 or CS -2

How do I take a character I made in Photoshop CS2 and make it into a 3D moving image?

I am new to the world of 3D art, but have a few programs at my disposal that I am trying to learn (by myself), like Maya 8.5, Lightwave 9, Mudbox 1.0 and Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0. I am just learning about these programs and would love direction to free tutorials about such. Back to my main question though, I created a robot character in Photoshop and would like to make it into a full 3D image that I could use in Flash 8, or other programs. How do I take a character I made in Photoshop CS2 and make it into a 3D moving image?
well either you can use program like maya, and recreate the robot in 3d, then animated and move around, then export or import frames from movie into flash, or draw the whole animation by hand in flash, either way, theres not short cuts, and will take weeks, months, or even a year,

How do I photoshop this picture?

I have a friend that has a missing tooth on the side and she is very self consious about it. The other day we took a picture of her and she looks absolutely beautiful in it, but you can see where her tooth was pulled on the side. We were talking and thought it would be funny to photoshop it to where she has a blinging fake gold tooth with a diamond in it! Does anyone know how to do this? How do I photoshop this picture?
Ok First thing is that you have to open the picture. Next you need to get a picture of gold your a real gold teeth from browser images. Next you extract the image in Filters---%26gt; Extract, extract the picture with the brush by coloring the outside of the object. Then fill it with the paint can until the image is filled in with the color, then click ok. You will get the object on a diff window. Pull the image to your friends picture. Move the image around to where you want it. After that you do what ever with it.

How do i add more than one picture in photoshop cs3?

Also can you give the website for all photoshop cs3 tutorials? How do i add more than one picture in photoshop cs3?
You can open one picture, then open another, select it (you can do CTRl +A if on a PC or CMD+A if on a Mac for Select All) then use the move tool and drag it into the first picture. Or if you want two pictures side by side, you can open one, go to Image%26gt;Canvas and enlarge the canvas to make it big enough for both pictures, then do what I said above to select the second one and drag it onto the first one with the bigger canvas to hold both pictures.

There is NO SINGLE website that has all tutorials. You will have to search on your own because there are many websites with all sorts of tutorials for Photoshop CS3. It depends on what you want to do.

I also suggest you consider getting a couple of books, like Photoshop CS3 for Dummies or The Photoshop CS3 Visual Quickstart Guide. How do i add more than one picture in photoshop cs3?
well your question doesnt really explain what ur trying to say, either u can drag the picture on top of the other to get 2 pics in one layout, or just go to file open and place another!

Like they're black and white photographs, but they have a coloured object somewhere in the photograph as well...for example, like this:

How do you make just part of the picture coloured?

Do you cut out (for example, like in Picture 1) just the ladybug from the original coloured photo and then add it to the now black and white photo with a new layer? How can you make these kinds of pictures in Photoshop?
First of all, duplicate the layer. You generally can't do too much editing on a background layer. Duplicating the background gives you something that's a lot more editable. There should be a drop down menu at the top of your screen called ';Layers';. Go to that and choose ';Duplicate layer';. The selection tools are the key for Photoshop. The program has many tools you can use to select portions of pictures. The easiest one the use is the magic wand selection tool. It looks like a wand and you just click on the section you want to alter. However, you need to have a contrast for the tool to work properly or else it will select too much or not enough. You can change the setting of the wand with the tolerance guage that will appear at the top of the screen. I'm not sure what version you're using but you should be able to access the tool options somehow. You may have to double click the tool or something. Toggle between more and less tolerance to get the desired results. Another way to select portions is with the lasso tool. I'd recommend the magnetic lasso because it tends to follow the edges of an object. Again, you may have to reset the tool settings to get the desired results. After you've got the selection made, use the paintbrush tool to color it. Make sure the setting is on paint and it will retain the shadows and general look of the source material. You should be able to paint the object any way you wish. When you get the object looking the way you want it, you may want to flatten the artwork.(also under the layers menu) This will make the file smaller and won't take up as much space on your computer. Photoshop files can get real big, real fast. Also, consult the ';Help'; menu on your program. It will tell you more about the selection tools and features of the version of Photoshop you have. How can you make these kinds of pictures in Photoshop?
    Here's the basic method:

    Duplicate the background layer

    Desaturate the new layer

Add a layer mask, and click it.

    Select the brush tool

Make sure your foreground color is set to black.

Paint the area you want the color to show through from the bottom layer.

If you make a mistake, change the foreground color to white and paint it out.
Oh my god, look at the 5000 times this question has already been asked!!!!!! Run a search on ';Photo one thing color black and white'; and see what you get.
I've just posted a new page on my website with a step-by-step for this process.

Why do you have to use only a blue pencil for sketches to scan for photoshop?

    why not red or green?

can you use a colored pencil?

lolWhy do you have to use only a blue pencil for sketches to scan for photoshop?
I've never heard that you can only scan things in blue pencil for photoshop. But I can tell you that a blue pencil is used when printing on a press because it will not show up when the negative is shot. Why do you have to use only a blue pencil for sketches to scan for photoshop?
There is a special ';non-photo'; blue pencil, used to make notes and sketches for later inking. This special color will not scan or photograph very well, so, is ideal for this purpose.

It is, simply, a color that the scanner cannot pick up.
the only blue pencil I know of that's used for scanning things is a non photo blue for sketches and planning, then you use black or darker colors to do the clean lines because the non photo blue wont show up in the scan.

you can use any other color on an image, think about it, you can scan color-photos right?

the only thing that might cause trouble in a scan could be graphite because it tends to be reflective sometimes and if it reflects the light you may not get a great scan.

Photoshop is not a vector program, it is a bitmap program. Oh, there are a couple of things that are vectored -- text and shapes. A psd file might be composed of text or shapes or both but probably soon or later they will be rastered to bitmaps. A vector image is composed of formulas to tell the vector program how to display. A bitmap program works with the individual pixels.

How can I import a drawing in photoshop without coming out with edgy lines?

I good trick I use when I do digital illustration is a scan my sketch, but I scan it huge. Way bigger than I really want it to be. So for example, if I know I want the finished project to be 8x8 in at 300dpi, I'll scan it at around 1200 dpi. It looks like crap, until you scale it down to that 8x8 in size. Then the lines smooth and everything looks a lot cleaner. How can I import a drawing in photoshop without coming out with edgy lines?
I use photoshop every day for my art site. The reason images get rough edges is because of low resolution. Is the image you are using a small one that you are trying to make big? That's very difficult if not impossible for some. When I start with a drawing I use a digital camera to take a pic and then put the pic into photoshop. Digital photos start out at a nice large size. You can always shrink it but not make it bigger as easily. Scanning the image into your computer is also good but not quite as big as a digital photo. When you get the image into photoshop check the resolution by choosing the image pull down, image size. a box will open at the bottom of it is your resolution. It's usually at around 72. Try it at about 200. If this doesn't do the whole job you can smooth the edges with the blur tool by hand (recommended) or the blur effect. Then use the sharpen edges effect to crisp it. Good luck! How can I import a drawing in photoshop without coming out with edgy lines?
Set the anti alias option and increase your resolution, if you are working with a bitmap file convert it to greyscale.

It would help greatly if you linked to an example - makes it much easier to explain. How do you brighten a picture in photoshop (CS4)?
I haven't touched CS4, but I doubt (well, hope) this hasn't changed. Select your adjustment layer, right click on it and select Create Clipping Mask. You'll see the layer icon slide over and a downwards arrow indicating it is adjusting the layer below it.

That's only one of the things you can do with a clipping mask. It's worth searching some tutorials to learn more about them.
if your just trying to adjust a single object in a picture or something you need to create a clipping mask around that object on a seperate letter. i dont remember exactly how to do it, but you can type it in google and itll give you tutorials.
adjustment layers apply their effect to all the layers below it, maybe you need to move the layer down or up first, or just apply brightness/contrast to a single layer without making an adjustment layer for it.

How do I create a website in Photoshop?

I am new to creating websites in photoshop.

I know how to save it, but what size do I start with. Whenever I save it, the website is HUGE! Can someone give me a size in pixels?

Easy 10 points! How do I create a website in Photoshop?
Photoshop is actually for creating graphics AND for creating websites. It's a common misconception that it's only for creating graphics.

Create your graphic, then save it as a jpg - but from the dropdown menu, choose 'HTML and Images' - Photoshop will render the HTML code and the graphics for you. It will place the graphics into an image directory, and the html file will be named whatever the PSD file has been named.

To create 'sections' of your sites for tables, use your slice tool to divide your graphic into sections and give it properties , and then use the above method to save your graphic as ';html and images' -- Photoshop will then save it as separate images and tables. Then open the html file in Dreamweaver or another editor to add text to that section.

As far as size goes, I've always felt the content section is good at 1000 pixels wide, then adding a background to the edges. Nobody has the same screen resolution, so someone is always going to be left out -- 1024 is pushing it to the limit, and your user is likely going to have to scroll slightly left and right to see the comple site if you go with that width. 1000 is your best bet. As far as the 5% of users who have 800x600 resolution? Who cares.. ....

The best way is to cut out the graphics you want. For example, your logo, background images and borders. Then take these images and add them into your html via css styles. Make sure the site is fast loading, clean and accessible.

Here's a sample to get you started

    http://files.cogocreative.co.uk/sample.z鈥?/a>
Photoshop is for creating graphics, not creating web pages.

    ';Can someone give me a size in pixels?';

On what monitor? What operating system? The variables of user viewport are so far and wide it's impossible to say ';one specific size'; and have it work for everyone. Anyone who does is an amateur (or a spam-boy who could care less about your problem, as the previous two link droppers are . . . )

In terms of designing your graphics in Photoshop. you should have one area of the design, like a bar top and bottom, that will be a background pattern for the ';bar'; that will allow the container to stretch or contract accordingly without exploding your design. Here's your easy answer: start with 1024, but don't set your design at that statically.

The optimum solution here: currently monitors of 1024 width resolution are common and getting larger daily, but a great number of your visitors will still be on 800 width resolution. If you go with ';100% width'; on those large monitors your lines of text will be so wide it will be as hard to read as if you made the type so small. So . . . set your width for 95% width and apply the max-width and min-width properties via CSS. These don't work in IE6, but that's the breaks . . .

    #container {

    width:95%;

    margin: 0 auto 0 auto;

    min-width: 800px;

    max-width:1024px;

    }

    ........

    %26lt;div id=';container';%26gt;

    Your content

    %26lt;/div%26gt;

Of course, the margin:auto will not work if your document doesn't validate:

You do NOT - I repeat: NOT - design a ';website'; in Photoshop, EVER!

You design IMAGES, and nothing else.

You can, if you want, designe the ';layout'; of your site, that is, how you would like it to show ';in the end';.

Look at this page: this would be a ';layout design'; (how it will ';look';), but although you may keep and print an image of it as reference, you do NOT use that image as ';website';.

You cut it into small pieces... (This is where the fun begins).

What ';images'; do we have on here?

    - A background image (the greenish oblique stripped thing): make a small image, 50x50 pxls, and you will use a repeat function as %26lt;body%26gt; background. It is small, so it load FAST: VERY IMPORTANT!

    - A top-nav-bar with the words ';Yahoo | My Yahoo! | Mail '; etc...

This is just a bit of a table or a div with a background colour and a series of clickable LINKS: no image required!

    - Below is the Yahoo logo: that's an image by itself.

    etc etc...

Look at your screen: each bit that you can ';cut'; as one entity is one split part of you global design.

You arrange them using CODE to look like your desired layout, AT ALL RESOLUTIONS: you have to check it with 800 (5% users), 1024 (most common), 1280 (regular), 1660 (newest).

    Hard?

Yes, it is hard to make tat layout to look the same at all resolutions.

But you can do what yahoo did: no width wider than 800 pixels, then center it. Easy way out.

If you do that, I'll call you lazy or incompetent. (Yahoo ARE lazy in their designs, but they attach more importance on functionality, so they are forgiven).

    SO...

NEVER make a single image wider than 800 pixels wide (unless you accept that 5% of users will have a horizontal scroll bar. When the see it, they leave...)

    Good luck!
You are going to regret it trying to use Phtoshop to make a web page. Try these others and use PS for the graphics design.

72pixel and trust me, you should use dreamweaver to make the website. Photoshop is only a tool for editing a photo and your website should no be a full image. The search engine never craw the image, people will never find you. So what is the point you make this website.

How to edit photos professionally & quickly with Photoshop?

I am really new to photography. How do I do this? Steps and instructions would be nice :)

Much love and thanks!!How to edit photos professionally %26amp; quickly with Photoshop?
    Hi there,

I did a series of basic Photoshop video tips for the company I work for. These are the same steps that we use in our fine art printmaking so hopefully they'll get you going in the right direction. The overall gist:

    1. Use adjustment layers鈥nything else is hard to undo鈥ou'll be bummed when you have to redo everything because you don't like a change you made.

    2. Make adjustments to lightness, darkness and contrast first. These elements effect color, so if you adjust color first you'll be running around in circles.

    3. Work overall, then you can use tools like the lasso tool to make adjustments in specific areas (like the sky or just under the eyes of your subject).

    4. Take it easy! The most common pitfall of for beginning printmakers is making too many changes and making those changes too dramatically. If you start to make a lot of drastic changes it's likely that your shot wasn't good enough to begin with and you're trying to rescue it. It's a good sign that you need to reshoot. (Note: it's also possible that you're looking to make a big departure from your original capture for expressive purposes鈥n which case this doesn't apply as much).

Hope this helps. Feel free to drop me a line if you need a little more info. Good luck!

One more note鈥hotoace is right that you need to calibrate your monitor if you get serious. If you find that you're getting frustrated because your screen doesn't match your prints that's a very likely culprit. How to edit photos professionally %26amp; quickly with Photoshop?
The goal in photography is to produce perfect images in the camera using composition and the skills necessary to produce perfectly exposed images with out any ';editing'; necessary. Editing used to mean sorting ... picking the best of the images and placing them in a 20 image plastic sleeve or with digital images, placing them in a special ';edited'; file folder.

Now it seems that new users of digital cameras use editing to describe photo manipulation or ';fixing'; mistakes made in the camera. It is too bad the the definitions of traditional terms used in photography for over a century have become so misused.

    So to your question.

After you have sorted your images, the best pictures might need a little tweaking. You can (only if your computers monitor is correctly calibrated):

    * use the level tool to fine tune the black threshold, white threshold and mid-tones to your liking.

    * process the corresponding RAW image files

    * resize images for posting websites and attaching to email (remember to rename the new resized file so you do not overwrite your original)

    * convert to a black and white image using the satruattion tool adjusted to -100 and the level tool to fine tune the image

    * create an XMP file with your copyright notice, contact information, subject data and key words.

    * batch append all your image files from individual shoots using Bridge and the corresponding XMP file

This all takes time to learn, actual image manipulation can take many years to learn. Usually taking a few class in Photoshop is a good idea if you are going to become a post production or pre-press wizard instead of or in addition to becoming a photographer.
open your photo in photoshop and do general run thrus on fixes till you can see what you like, then learn more about the tools you use in photoshop for fixes,,, generally with photo open, click IMAGE, ADJUST, then choose the AUTO commands, you then can see what they do to pics, also under adjust is where you find most useful tools for photos, then last go to FILTER, SHARPEN, and chosse AUTO, let the program do most of it as it will choose the best settings,,, after look for tutorials on fixing photos on the net to teach you this suff,,,,

photoshop is the best program but it is so big, it is hard to be general in discussing it, find tutorials is best
Define what you mean by ';edit';.

At it's most simple it could be a simple levels adjustment - taking about 20 seconds.

Or it could be a complicated manipulation which could take hours or even days.

There are hundreds of books on the subject and ';steps and instructions'; on here would be rather pointless if it was not you wanted to know.
Other than some VERY simple tweaks, professional work done on high end photographic images take time.

If it were an ';easy'; fix, the photographer would make the image ';right'; at the time the shot was taken. A few seconds preparation behind the lens saves a LOT of time working in Photoshop.
    ';Edit'; is a broad term.

Read the Photoshop tutorial. Experiment. Phototshop is a extensve program and you will not learn it quickly.
Its an impossible question to answer as the picture itself determines what I do with it in PS.

Are you talking colour or B%26amp;W? Portrait or landscape? Jpeg or Raw?
